Brittani’s Story

I am a wife to a wonderful man and a mother to 5 amazing kids. I grew up in Northern Michigan, ventured to Florida for a while and eventually moved back home to be closer to my family. Growing up, my dad worked for the same irrigation company for more than 20 years. My mom and stepdad owned an archery shop where I spent much of my childhood. They sold the shop long ago and have started new businesses. They began with a chain of resale shops in Florida, then moved back home to Michigan where my mom started her photography business and my stepdad expanded into the transportation industry. As for me, I worked as an Office Manager for my uncle’s marina for a few years before moving into Human Resources at a local factory.

After spending many years in Human Resources, I decided to branch out on my own. And so Clark Accounting Solutions was formed. I was very involved with payroll in my previous HR life which led me into bookkeeping. Bookkeeping is my true passion. I have always been a perfectionist and like things in perfect order. Bookkeeping allows me to put things in order all day long! But I couldn’t stop there, because many of my family members are small business owners, I was aware that their struggles went beyond just basic bookkeeping.

When I worked at my uncle’s marina, I learned all about the daily struggles of invoicing, payroll, job profitability, upselling, and customer relationships. This is where I first worked with QuickBooks and felt that spark of passion for getting things in order. When my mom’s photography business took off, she needed help organizing her customer payments. Between deposits, discounts, promotions, and gift cards, she needed a clear way to understand who owed what and when. I knew I could help her. When my stepdad’s company expanded, he needed help with payroll, bookkeeping, and tax filing. I jumped at the chance to get him organized. And of course, I am the go-to gal anytime my family hears that someone needs help starting and registering a business.

Today, my accounting firm offers bookkeeping, payroll, and tax prep services. We operate solely within QuickBooks Online. Each client has a dedicated bookkeeping (or tax) portal to make communication a breeze. We review your books weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly, depending on your needs. Any transaction questions we have are added to your client portal. You can log in at your convenience to securely answer questions, share files, ask us questions, or view your financial or tax reports. No more time-consuming meetings, review your finances on your own schedule!
